Winter Program
GOALS
Offer a basketball program that focuses on fundamentals, team play, basketball education, and positive experiences. Provide team players with an opportunity to have fun!
IN-HOUSE PROGRAM
The Trailblazers’ In-House program is for the 1st – 3rd grade boys and girls. The program provides young children the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of basketball while having fun playing the game. The program runs from November 1st to the end of February. Every attempt will be made to keep the kids in their respective grade and boys and girls will have their own division. Each team will practice once during the week and play “games” on Saturdays. The success of the program is dependent upon parent involvement. If you have a desire to coach please let us know at the time of registration. The 1st – 3rd graders will receive medals for their outstanding play throughout the year.
TRAVELING PROGRAM
Traveling basketball is offered for 4th through 8th graders who are interested in competing at a higher level. Traveling teams are formed of our best players to compete with the best players from other communities in the metro area. If number of participants dictates, we form multiple teams per grade, with a Blue, White, and Black or similar format and 8-10 players per team.
Traveling Teams require a greater commitment, in that each participant is expected to attend all practices and weekend tournaments. Teams will typically have two practices per week, and play in 30 or more games during the season.
Note: Playing Time
There is NO “equal” play rule. Your investment pays for practice time not for playing time. If you have any questions other then “playing time” questions please feel free to approach your coach. We do not promise equal playing time, but do promise playing time to all who show up to practice and give their best effort.
